Customs zone ‘A’ gets new controller

Hammed_AliMOHAMMED Dahiru Umar has assumed duty as the new Controller of Federal Operation Unit (FOU), Zone ‘A’, Ikeja. He took over the baton of leadership from Comptroller Sani Madugu.

He  joined the NCS as a Cadet Officer in 1982 after graduation from the Bayero University Kano.
Umar has attended several courses in Customs operation locally, regionally and internationally.
Some of the courses included but not limited to Valuation and Classification, Post Clearance Audit, Corporate Governance and Leadership.
He became a full Controller in 2012 and has served as Area Controller in the Premier Port Apapa, PTML Command, Murtarla Mohammed Airport Command, Federal Capital Territory Command and last served as Controller promotion at the NCS Headquarters, Abuja.
Meanwhile, FOU Zone ‘A’ has commended  DSC Jude Ohagwu for outstanding performance.
The former Controller described the team leader as a workaholic and brave officer, whose operational records have brought fame and accolades to the Unit.  

He had bagged the prestigious officer of the month award in Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘A’ and recently in recognition of his sterling qualities.

In a related development, the  Headquarters Compliance Team at Idiroko axis  under the leadership of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Shittu Ajibola, has confiscated  one hundred (100) cartons of smuggled frozen poultry products.
