The production of drones has accelerated in recent years, but despite being advantageous in many situations they do pose several potential threats and dangers.
A European startup, DeDrone, has been initiated to combat the possible dangers by using a DroneTracker system to identify unauthorized drones. These drones can then be monitored to ensure they are not being used maliciously.
The DroneTracker includes a weatherproof unit which holds several sensors, allowing for a 120 degree airspace arc, with a range of up to 100 meters. The sensors are borderline infra-red, acoustical sensors and a video camera which work together to monitor the skies in real time, sending the data back to a paired device. The portability and scale of the equipment means it will be incredibly useful for monitoring public events and eliminating any dangerous drones from entering the airspace.
