Another Billboard Of Obama-Okorocha Handshake Emerges In Owerri [LOOK]
Another version of the billboard displaying Governor Rochas Okorocha having a handshake with President Barack Obama of the United States had on Friday, July 31, 2015 surfaced in Owerri, Imo State capital with an inscription that read, “… A true Igbo leader”.
Okorocha, was among the 33-man delegation that accompanied General Muhammadu Buhari on a 4-day trip to the United States on Sunday, July 19, 2015.
He took a shot of a handshake between himself and Obama while Buhari stood between and watched them in smiles.
After he returned from the visit, huge billboards featuring the photo and an inscription that read, ” Behold The New Faces Of Change” were seen all over the state.
However, some irked Nigerians who found the billboards so irritating and uncalled for didn’t miss an opportunity to blast the governor.
Some of them took to Twitter social media to vent their anger and admonished the governor to pay his workers instead.
Meanwhile, the governor released a statement following the backlash in which he denied having a fore knowledge of the billboards, with claims that some of his friends erected them to impress him.
Similarly, the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, (NHRC) Prof Chidi Odinkalu had in a statement described Okorocha’s action as a show of narcissism and a show of shame.
