List of Scholarships in Netherlands for International Students – 2015/2016 Academic Year

Some universities and organizations offer scholarships to international students to study for Undergraduate, Masters or PhD degrees in Netherlands. We have compiled a list of these scholarships in Netherland for international students in 2015-2016 academic year. Go through the list for programs that suites your preference. Also take note of the deadlines, as most of these scholarship programmes are awarded annually.
Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP)
The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) is designed to promote capacity building within organizations in 60 developing countries, by providing training and education to their mid-career staff members. If you want to apply for PhD studies, master’s degree programmes or short courses you must first gain academic admission to the course of your choice before applying for a fellowship through the Netherlands embassy or consulate in your country.
Utrecht Excellence Scholarships for International Students
The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship offers a number of undergraduate and Master’s scholarship awards to highly talented prospective international students, with the opportunity to pursue a degree in a selected number of fields at Utrecht University. The scholarship programme is highly selective. Only candidates showing the highest achievement and promise may receive a scholarship. Selected students receive a scholarship for the duration of the degree programme, which is a maximum of two years for a Master’s degree and three years for a Bachelor’s degree. Approximately 55 scholarships are awarded each year.
University of Groningen Talent Grant: Eric Bleumink Fund
The primary objective of the Eric Bleumink Fund, established on 23 May 2000, is to provide financial support to Master’s students and PhD students from developing countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree or a doctorate.
The Hague University offer a total of 54 scholarships to students who would like to start their bachelor programme at the univeristy. At €5,000 each, the scholarships cover almost two-thirds of the total first year university’s tuition fee and will only be awarded once. The university is an educational united nations of 146 nationalities, where everyone speaks English. You will be taught by both local and international lecturers who have an easy way of interacting with the students.
VU University Masters Scholarships for International Students in Amsterdam
The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) offers talented prospective students the unique opportunity to pursue a degree in a selection of Master’s programmes at VU University. VU University has committed to providing approximately 1 million euro towards attracting highly motivated, excellent students.
Paul Speijer Postgraduate Scholarship Fund at Wageningen University Netherland for African Students
The Paul Speijer postgraduate scholarship fund is offered to African students to study their Masters Degree in Netherland at Wageningen University. The candidates for the Paul Speijer scholarship fund are graduate students who have completed a Bachelor of Science- BSc Degree in Plant Sciences or Agronomy with outstanding results, who are currently working as a professional in a local research institute and who will use a Masters MSc-level postgraduate education to become leader in their field.
WWF Prince Bernhard Scholarships for Nature Conservation- Netherland
The WWF Prince Bernhard Scholarships (PBS) are awarded to students from developing countries who wish to pursue formal studies or professional training in the field of Natural conservation. The aim of the Scholarships is to provide financial support to students who wish to pursue short-term professional training or formal studies that will help them contribute effectively to conservation efforts in their country.
Deadline for submission is mid-January of each year.
Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is the new EU programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport for 2014-2020, starting in January 2014.
University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) for International Students
The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from both EU/EEA as well as non-EU/EEA countries, applying for a graduate programme (MSc) at the University of Twente.

UN-Nippon Fellowship Programme in Ocean Affairs for Coastal Developing Countries

The main objective of the fellowship is to provide opportunities for advanced education and training in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, and related disciplines including marine science, to Government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing coastal States, so that they may obtain the necessary knowledge to assist their countries to formulate comprehensive ocean policy and to implement the legal regime set out in UNCLOS and related instruments.
Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarships in Journalism, Media and Globalization
The Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Journalism, Media and Globalisation welcomes applications from graduate students around the world. You can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship, or as a self-funded student. The Mundus Journalism Consortium is able to offer a limited number of ‘Erasmus Mundus’ student scholarships for students entering the programme from 2012 – 2016. The scholarships are divided into category A and B scholarships.
Dutch Government Scholarships –MENA Scholarship Programme
The MENA Scholarship Programme aims to contribute to capacity building within organizations and institutions in the six selected countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia. Moreover, a network of over 100 alumni positively contributes to the relations between their respective countries and the Netherlands.
Professor De Winter Scholarship at University of Twente, Netherlands
The Professor De Winter scholarship is provided by Mrs. De Winter, the widow of Prof. Herman de Winter. Professor De Winter was one of the founders of the research and education department of the former Technical College Twente.
